The island of Lefkada is situated in the Ionian Sea to the north of Cephalonia. Lefkada is the fourth largest island in the Ionian Sea. In the past Lefkada was a part of the mainland and was separated by a channel in the 7th century BC.

Nowadays, you can reach it again by car through a floating bridge. That makes it a very popular tourist destination.
